Why is Monsignor McCoy High School being modernized?

The modernization will enhance learning spaces to provide better opportunities for our students.

 

When is the school modernization scheduled to begin and when will it be complete?

Construction is anticipated to begin Spring of 2015 with projected

completion September 2016.

 

Where can plans for the school be accessed?

Visiting the school to see the layout of the proposed floor plans.

 

How will the students be accommodated during construction?

Plans are being developed to accommodate students & staff.  Our goal is

to keep the school day routine as normal as possible. Details will be communicated to staff, students, and parents.

 

What areas will be enhanced in the modernization?

Gymnasium Expansion, Ancillary Classroom Fitness Area, Chapel, CTS Home Economics Servery, CTS Labs, Common Area, Washrooms, Drama Space, Mechanical including Heating/Ventilation/Air-Conditioning/Electrical

 

How will the modernization project be funded?

$9.2 million Alberta Education (government funding)

$500,000 Fundraising to enhance areas not covered by the grant.

 

Will there be a fundraising campaign for the school?

Yes.  The fundraising campaign began with a BBQ held at Monsignor McCoy High School on September 23, 2014. Ongoing fundraising campaign information and donation opportunities can be found on our website
